Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information PieceDrop ("we," "us") collects at piecedrop.com, and in our weekly email, and how we use it. PieceDrop is run by Will, an independent puzzle fan in the US.

The short version

• You can use PieceDrop without signing up.
• If you join our weekly email, we keep your email address so we can send it. We use Kit to send it.
• We don't sell your personal information.
• When you click a link to a store, that store's own privacy policy applies to what you do there.

1. Information we collect

If you sign up for the weekly email: your email address, plus the basic details Kit records when you sign up (such as the date, the form you used, and your IP address). Kit may ask you to confirm your address by email.

When you open or click our emails: Kit may record whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. We use this to see what readers like.

When you visit the site: like most websites, the computers that host and deliver PieceDrop may automatically log technical details such as your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, and the time. This is done by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, mostly for security and to keep the site running.

Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser loads them, Google receives your IP address and browser details.

What we don't do right now: PieceDrop doesn't use accounts, logins, ad trackers, or its own analytics cookies.

2. How we use it

• To send the weekly email you asked for
• To see which puzzles and deals readers find useful, so we can make the site and email better
• To keep the site secure and working
• To reply if you contact us

3. Affiliate links and cookies

Some links on PieceDrop and in our email may be affiliate links (see our Affiliate Disclosure). If you click one, the store or affiliate network may set a cookie or use a similar tool in your browser. This lets them know PieceDrop sent you, so we can earn a fee if you buy something. Those cookies are set and controlled by them, not by us, and their privacy policies apply.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Links will still work. We just might not get credit for a sale.

4. Who we share information with

We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with services that help us run PieceDrop:

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

5. Your choices

• Unsubscribe: every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also email us and we'll remove you.
• See or delete your data: email us and we'll tell you what we have, or delete your email address from our list.
• Cookies: block or clear them in your browser.

If you live in a state with its own privacy law (such as California), you may have extra rights, like the right to know what we collect or to ask us to delete it. Email us to use them. We don't sell or "share" personal information for targeted advertising as those laws define it.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your email address while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, Kit may keep a record that you unsubscribed so we don't email you again. Hosting logs are kept as long as Cloudflare's own practices require.

7. Children

PieceDrop is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has signed up for our email, contact us and we'll delete it.

8. Security

We use trusted providers and keep only what we need. No website or email service is perfectly secure, though.

9. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is big, we'll mention it in the weekly email.
