What each round is
- Solo ($40 + tax per person): 500-piece puzzles in the prelims and the final. Four prelims of 240 puzzlers; the top 60 from each go to the final.
- Pairs ($60 + tax per pair): A 500-piece puzzle in the prelims. In the final, a 300-piece and then a 500-piece puzzle, with 1.5 hours. Two prelims of 240 pairs; the top 120 from each go to the final.
- Teams of 4 ($120 + tax per team): Prelims: a 500-piece and then a 1,000-piece puzzle. Final: two 1,000-piece puzzles. Two prelims of 120 teams; the top 60 from each go to the final.
